Catch the award
winning London show, Les Miserables at the opulent London Westend Queen’s Theatre! The show is adapted
from the epic novel of Victor Hugo that is set up against the backdrop of
French revolution. The
show has went on becoming the world's longest-running musical. The
hugely loved show is enjoyed by people from all across the globe.
The show made
its grand debut in the year 1985 and opened with lukewarm reviews. It was
transferred from the Barbican to the Palace Theatre and finally settled to the Queen's
Theatre. The heart touching story of Les Miserables is set against the backdrop
of the simmering French revolution, and revolves around the ex-convict Jean
Valjean, and his struggles to escape from his scary past.
Mesmerizing
musical score by duo Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, renowned for
penning smash-hit Miss Saigon and Martin Guerre has churned out some great
musical compositions like "I Dreamed a Dream", "On My Own",
"Stars", "Bring Him Home", "Do You Hear the People
Sing?", "Master of the House", "A Little Fall of Rain"
and the show-stopping "One Day More".
The blockbuster
show was originally adapted and directed by Trevor Nunn and John Caird. Other
key highlights of the show are lyrics penned by Herbert Kretzmer, set designin
by John Napier, costume designing by Andreane Neofitou, lighting design by
David Hersey and sound design by Mick Potter and Andrew Bruce.
The original
choreography and staging have been kept in the London West End production,
whereas the Broadway version featured vamped-up
video design and no revolving stage. The great thing about Les Miserable’s is that some of the most popular actors have
performed in it like Sierra Boggess, Danielle Hope, Alfie Boe, Ramin Karimloo,
Carrie Hope Fletcher, Rachelle Ann Go and Eva Noblezada. Current casting
includes Killian Donnelly as John Valjean, Jeremy Secomb as Javert, Steven Meo
as Thénardier, Paul Wilkins as Marius, Carley Stenson as Fantine, Karis Jack as
Eponine, Jacqueline Tate as Madame Thénardier, Hyoie O'Grady as Enjolras and
Charlotte Kennedy as Cossette.
Les
Miserables is truly an epic and enchanting
mesmerising musical beautifully depicting the French history with some of the
wonderful performances.
